ON BEING UNFINISHED

Phi 3:14 (ESV) I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Strange things happen to my posts while blogging for God. Some mornings, after agonizing over every word’s correctness, succinctness, and appropriate grammar, my writing may be ready to publish after about three hours. Other days, my article is complete after spending a half an hour or less on its composition.

I’ve noticed that getting up as soon as the alarm sounds at 4:00 AM, and spending some time in quiet prayer, allows my thoughts to flow more easily. Today however, I kept pressing the snooze button on my clock until I finally arose at 5:00AM. Even after reading three powerful devotionals, I still feel like I cheated myself out of time with God. It’s 6:00 AM, I have less than an hour before I must stop to get ready for work and, I only have these two paragraphs written.

A thought suddenly occurs to me: God is not some harsh taskmaster who keeps score of the mornings I choose to remain in bed longer. Nor, is He brandishing a whip for the days I may have nothing to write at all. I place powerful expectations upon myself that may have nothing to do with God’s pace for home-schooling me. All I need to do is keep studying His Word, and spend as much time in prayer as possible, trusting that He will finish the work He began in me.

Oh powerful, all loving God, teach me to be patient with myself when I don’t live up to my own expectations. Continue to lead me along Your path of gentle teaching and guidance. Help me to surrender my writing and life to You on a daily basis. Thank You for being my persevering, loving teacher. Amen.

  1. Holy and unblamable

Dear Saints, Jesus is going to present you holy and unblamable to God, He will keep you from falling and present you faultless before His Father in Heaven. For His glory, majesty, dominion and power is now and forever, this is the assurance that we have received in our hearts when we professed that Jesus Christ is Lord.

We must remind ourselves daily of Christ’s victory on the cross, for sin and death was paid for in full, and it no longer has any power over us, for His blood was poured out for a sacrifice to cleanse and cover you so that God would accept us, for Christ’s blood is an atonement for us.

Now, Jesus freed Himself from that cruel cross and is alive forevermore, and because He lives we can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone and I know He holds the future and life is worth the living just because He lives.

Now, Jesus is waiting with great patience for men, women and children to receive His wonderful word so that He can present us all to His Father. So let us preach His saving grace to everyone that we can, for He said, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to ever creature.” {Mark 16 v 15}.

So let us be more urgent than ever before, for we see that His coming is but a moment away. May the Lord’s kindness and great love be upon you now and evermore, in Jesus name.

“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” {St. Mark 16:15}.

  2. I wrote about mistakenly thinking God was a demanding taskmaster today too, before I even read your post. Isn’t that cool! May God bless you today, big sister.

  3. Hi Godsgirl, I came home for lunch and read your post… it’s like we compared notes this morning! God bless you, little sister.
