Surrender and Syncronicity

Surrender yourself to the Lord, and wait patiently for him. Psalm 37:7 (GWT)

17-best-I have a very hard time when it comes to surrender yet, some of the most impossible miracles take place when I give the problem to God.

I am living in a leaky camper in South Carolina… no family or friends nearby. I have just been diagnosed with a chronic illness and I don’t know how I will get home.  I advertise in many places to sell my camper to no avail. I remember clearly that day sitting on my sofa, sobbing and telling God, “You will have to care for me now. I can’t do it. I want to go home and it’s not happening. I give up.”  Within days I have a buyer and am on my way to Massachusetts.

I am living in elderly housing and a woman has a vicious dog. After many complaints to the property manager and nothing is being done; my dog is attacked. Then, management requires the dog to be off the property. The woman is threatening me, stalking me, telling me she is going to hurt me and I am afraid. Management does nothing. I buy a can of MACE and take my dog for walks off the property.  I live in fear for about three months. One day out of exasperation I pray and cry to God, “You are going to have to protect me, I can’t do it all myself.” A few weeks later she moved out.

Today, I discover that our vindictive and unfair property manager is leaving.  I gave up trying to reason with her weeks ago.

Miracles seem so nonchalant almost as if a coincidence has occurred, yet a niggling question remains… would this fortuitous happenstance still occur if one had not surrendered?  I don’t believe so.

Throughout the Bible we are told to trust, have faith, surrender but it’s so hard to do.  Even when miracles appear as a result of letting go, I take my will back again and again.

I know God still loves me despite my resistance and is waiting in the background for me to relinquish my problem to Him.  Teach me Lord to trust You more.

Pro 28:26  He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
